Framing Day

Updated: Jan 27, 2020

The morning was cold and cloudy and looked like it might rain. But thankfully, we were blessed with good weather for our Fullerton Phase II Framing Day on Saturday, January 11, 2020.

It was a strange feeling, to be back for construction at the site where we poured our hearts and souls into for the better part of 2019, only to see four beautiful new homes standing where we once stood. Across the small alleyway was the site of our next project: four new homes for four hardworking families.

Everyone greeted one another with excitement, ready to get started. Although past Framing Days have been cause for celebration, with blessings from community and faith leaders, families slated for a Phase II home have already begun their sweat equity with the Phase I development. It just seemed best to jump right in to framing.

Among the groups represented were Neighborhood Builders AAA, the Catholic Coalition, the Presbyterian Coalition and one of our Phase II program families.

A lunch of Jersey Mikes sandwiches was provided by the Habitat OC Volunteer Services department.

After a long and arduous day of lifting and hammering, all our amazing volunteers and crew raised all the frames for the next four homes.

The next upcoming Presbyterian Coalition Build Day is set for Saturday, January 25.
